“My name is Krysti Corwin, I am 30 years old and a single mother to 3 handsome boys! I am going on my third year with Initial Independence and I am able to say I love my job! I attend River City Fellowship and have grown so much spiritually and as a person over the past few years and still have lots more room to grow! I love our little town even with all the flaws othersfind! When we moved away when I was 10years old to Michigan,
not my choice, and would come back to visit I always felt more at peace then when I would arrive back in Michigan! When I moved back at 16 I knew this was where my roots where supposed to be! I graduated from GAHS class of 2004, and had my first born a year later on November 19th! Soon after came a double bundle of joy! May 10th 2007 my twins were born! I wasn’t in the greatest relationship at the time and it made times very very hard and chaotic! I was abused physically, mentally, and verbally by the person I was with for several years! People often think how dumb women are for not just walking away, but let me be the first to say you will never know the struggle until you have walked a mile if not more in our shoes! There are many problems with our small town like drugs, homelessness, domestic violence, and just plain ol’ rudeness! I hear people often saying how they can’t stand this town for this reason or for that reason but what are you doing to improve it? Have you offered to help someone find a way to over come their addiction, abusive situation, find a home, find a job? None of us should complain until we have stepped up our game and given it all we’ve got! The reason I Love my hometown is because I see the improvements made in many areas, and I know that God’s hands are in it and things can only get better with time! I love seeing the Gallipolis Pictures and learning its history because my roots are right here and I know if I do whatever I can to make a difference in any area and encourage others to do the same things will happen and Love will grow because love conquers all!!!”
